Check the filters, fluid levels and have the oil changed. Do this a few days in advance so that you have time to test the car to ensure that whatever was fixed, stays fixed.

Plan out your trip and fill gas accordingly. In case you won't be coming across a gas station for a considerable distance, it would be advisable to fill you tank to capacity.
